A working mom, personal trainer, postal worker, accountant , a doctor's assistant...who would known that such a diverse group of young women would come together their first year and win a USSSA Women's D World Championship!

Latin Soul, a team based out of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, had a very successful first year. Finishing 5th at the St. Patrick's Dat\y Blowout was a starting point for the Latin Soul Women. A few weeks later the team traveled to Austin to attend their first National Qualifing tournament. By bringing a 1st place championship back to DFW, a turning point was met for Latin Soul. After winning the Austin Bluebonnet, Latin Soul was moved to the USSSA Women's Division C. Many say this would be detriment to a team, but Latin Soul took it as a stepping stone and competed at the USSSA C ball level. Latin Soul would finish 4th in their next two tournaments, one of them being a Class C State. Finally the time came to go to the Class D National Tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Upsettingly, Latin Soul brought home a runner-up title. This left alot of redemption to be handled at the World Tournament in South Carolina. Going into the World Tournament, Latin Soul knew that there were 35 teams that would be extinguished, and only one would be standing. Playing eight games in two day, and a championship game of 12-1, brought back a USSSA World Championship title to Texas.

What lies beneath the team now? That question is yet to be revealed. With changes and motivation, Latin Soul looks forward to repeat their World Championship title!
